Leora Rothschild is deeply involved in the life of Rothschild Beyond. From early conversations to the fine details of each journey, she remains closely connected to how travel is designed and delivered, shaping the standards, relationships, and thoughtful decisions that define the experience.
Founded in 1998, Rothschild grew from Leora’s belief that luxury travel should feel personal, intuitive, and grounded in genuine understanding. Growing up in South Africa, her earliest travels were shaped not by itineraries, but by time spent in and around Kruger National Park – learning to observe, slow down, and respect the place. Those formative experiences continue to inform her approach today.
For Leora, luxury is found in judgement and care: knowing when to simplify, when to pause, and when to introduce a moment that feels effortless yet perfectly timed. She works closely with a long-standing team of travel designers, sharing knowledge, perspective, and a collective standard shaped over years. This ensures every journey reflects not only individual expertise, but the depth of the business as a whole.
Leora’s long relationships extend across continents into communities, conservation partners, cultural custodians, and grassroots initiatives, guiding a quiet, practical approach to regenerative travel. Dividing her time between Africa, the United States, and Australia, her continued recognition on the Travel + Leisure A-List reflects trust built through consistency, integrity, and care.
Rothschild is not a development organisation. And it is not a regenerative tourism organisation. We use the regenerative tourism framework because it is the right way to think about long-term impact – but our role is not to reform tourism, build frameworks, or participate in industry networking.
Our responsibility is simpler, and more serious: To ensure that funds enabled by travel flow directly to real, grassroots projects that make a measurable difference on the ground. This is regeneration enabled by travel, not tourism reform.
